How To Care For Your Shoes?
Please place your FitFlop shoes in a dry and ventilated place, away from direct sunlight and high temperatures for long periods of time (which may make the leather dry and brittle and affect the adhesive inside the shoe).
In addition, we recommend that if you need to store shoes in a shoe box or dust bag, please confirm that the shoes are dry before storing them. Also prepare desiccant to put in the shoe box to help absorb moisture, and take them out regularly. Shoes should be maintained and breathable to prevent them from being damaged by humid weather.
Most of the leather materials of the shoes are dyed with natural plant dyes, and no toluene freeze coloring agent is used. Most shoes are not recommended to be worn on rainy days or in humid environments.
It is normal for the shoes to fade if exposed to a large amount of moisture. It is recommended that you squeeze out the moisture from your shoes and place them in a cool and ventilated place or next to a dehumidifier to help them dry.
To maintain your FitFlop sandals, follow these recommended steps. Cleaning your FitFlop sandals is simple and easy.
If the midsoles of the shoes you purchased are made of rubber, it is recommended that you use a damp cloth or soft toothbrush with a little neutral detergent to scrub them clean.
If the midsoles of the shoes you purchased are made of leather, please apply special leather cleaner to a soft dry cloth and gently wipe the dirty area clean.
It is recommended that before cleaning a large area, you can use a cotton swab to dip the leather care cleaner in an inconspicuous corner and test it to confirm that the shoe leather will not change color before starting cleaning.
After cleaning, you must wait for the leather to dry completely before performing other maintenance steps.
How To Care For Leather Shoes?
#Clean
1. Use a soft cloth or soft brush made of natural materials to gently sweep away the dust on the leather surface. It should be noted that once the leather is scratched, it will leave traces. Even if you use maintenance oil, it can only be minimized.
Dip an appropriate amount of leather cleaner into a soft cloth and test it on an inconspicuous area to see if the color will fade.
Wipe the leather surface in one direction. Do not apply the detergent directly to the leather surface or apply too much, as this may cause the leather to fade. Once cleaning is complete, use another cloth to wipe away any bubbles.
There are liquid, mousse, and paste leather cleaners available on the market. General leather maintenance oils also have a slight cleaning effect. If the leather goods are in good condition, you can apply oil directly.
When emergency maintenance is needed, neutral detergent can be used (do not use soap and washing powder, as too strong a cleaning force may damage the leather)
#Repair
Leather will inevitably have scars during use, and there are different treatment methods according to the type of scars.
Scratches: Minor scratches can be rubbed gently with your fingers until the marks fade away along with the leather's oil.
Mildew: Mild mildew stains can be wiped off with a dry cloth and wiped with mildew remover (this action must be tested first to see if it will fade and used with caution). If the mold has penetrated deep into the leather, please leave it to a professional leather cleaning store.
Stains and water marks: Use a soft cloth dipped in warm water and wring it out, then gently pat it for emergency treatment so that the water spots are not obvious. After treatment, wipe it dry with a dry soft cloth and dry it in the shade.
Fading: It is recommended to leave it to a professional store to assist in judgment and processing.
If the stain is too severe to handle by yourself, it is safer to leave it to a professional store.
#Maintenanceoil
Dip an appropriate amount of leather care oil into a soft cloth and test it in an inconspicuous place to see if it is easy to fade.
Apply in a thin, circular motion onto the leather.
Leave it in a ventilated place for 1-2 hours and wait for the upper to dry naturally.
Gently wipe away excess oil with a clean cloth, allowing the leather pores to breathe deeply.
#Waterproof&Protection
Spray the leather-specific waterproof spray. This action is recommended to be done outdoors. The waterproof spray should be more than 30 cm away from the upper of the shoe. Spray the waterproof spray evenly with a horizontal movement.
Place the shoes in a well-ventilated area and let them dry naturally.
After the waterproof spray is completely dry, wipe it gently with a soft cloth.
